My heart beats a somber song
My soul knows only darkness
My dreams fail to come true
Yesterday's kiss is forgotten
I still wake up alone

The cards dealt to me
Are played very carefully
Hearts and diamonds
Have been few and far between
I hunger for the sweet redness
That lay beneath dreams
In my life darkness invades
With sharp clubs and angry spades
The hand I hold is like a curse
Submerged in pure blackness
Only getting worse

The emptiness cannot be filled
It only drains me of my colors
Leaving me weak again
Leaving me lost again
Leaving me black again
