Between The BLackest Parts
(12/13/07)

She wakes up and only sees blackness
All the color has left her eyes
All the lights have burned out
Every hope that brought a little life back into her barren heart
Has disappeared
Sometimes the sickness is so strong
So fucking intense
So overwhelmingly hopeless
That if she could, she would throw up her soul
And forget she ever had a heart
That is how she feels right now
Soulless
Disconnected
Parts of her heart have separated
Dreams are for the gullible
Sadness is what completes her
The promise of death, at least some day
Is a comfort like no other

Years of darkness
Months of misery
Weeks of pain
Days of self-loathing
Hours of tears
Minutes of confusion
Seconds of letting go
It’s all within her circle of life
A vicious cycle that keeps repeating
Defeating
Misleading

Darkness is dominating her sight
Her peace comes from being numb
She shuts down
Closes out the world
And though a part of her is dying
Ironically she is surviving
Between the blackest parts
